I have a student who is undocumented and therefore cannot study abroad. Therefore when asked he said he wasn’t interest because he knew it couldn’t… We now are trying to explore any “study away” opportunities domestically for him to still have that type of experience

I think institutional context is also important. For example, we have a huge effort behind volunteerism and civic engagement, but could use help with internships (something we are intentionally working on with career center partners)
